In his hometown of Middletown, Aikins has fought for his son to be recognized.
“I think it would be really good if we could recognize that this is its hometown and will present some signs,” Aikins told the City of Middletown in December, according to Associated Press. “He graduated from Middletown High School, returns here to visit me and take me to dinner, and I humbly request it.”
After the meeting, a city spokesman confirmed to the AP that the city plans to publish signals in its seven reading points, “Middletown, hometown of JD Vance, 50th Vice President of the United States of America.”
