Forest fire warnings continue in parts of the country as strong winds persist

The powerful winds and forest fire warnings persist in several states, with some areas that still fight against existing flames, since a new storm through the country emerges in the northwest of the Pacific on Friday.

The red flag warnings are in place for areas in the southwest, including New Mexico and the center-norte of Texas, where wind bursts will reach up to 40 mph on Friday matched with a relative humidity up to 10%.

Firefighters have continued fighting Gail’s fire in New Mexico, which had burned 108 acres and was contained in 25% until Friday, authorities said.

The southern half of Missouri and the northern half of Arkansas also face red flag warnings on Friday, with wind bursts up to 45 mph and a relative humidity from 20% to 25%.

According to the Arkansas forest division, 96 forest fires have been contained throughout the state, but four new forest fires are active.

“We are mobilizing all resources and working closely with local, state and federal partners,” said the forest division in a statement on Friday.

Southeast Florida also remains under a warm -climate alerts, with red flag warnings instead from Orlando to Stuart and high fire hazards from West Palm Beach to Miami. Moisture will be as low as 20% in these parts of the state, creating ideal conditions for existing fires to spread.

US 1 in Florida closed in both directions on Friday due to the low visibility of 344 forest fires in Miami-Dade County, according to the County Emergency Management Agency.

The development occurred after four people, including a child, were injured in an accident of multiple hazicles on Friday 1 at US 1, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Until Friday afternoon, Forest Fire 344 has burned 25,000 acres and is contained in 30%, authorities said. It is burning in parts to a large extent of the Everglades.

Together with the threat of forest fires, other parts of the country will experience cold temperatures, with the center of Mississippi, almost all of Alabama and most Georgia under Frost warnings and freezing on Friday.

As the weekend progresses, a new storm through the country will bring strong winds to the west, a strong snow to the north and severe storms south.

The storm will begin with the rain and mountain snow throughout the northwest of the Pacific on Friday. Oregon is expected to be beaten with 10 inches of snow on the mountains during the day and until Friday afternoon. Idaho and western Montana must wait 8 to 16 inches of snow on Friday night by Saturday morning.

For Sunday, strong to severe winds are expected up to 40 to 60 mph in the large plains and the upper west medium, creating a threat to dust storms, earth storms and the destruction of electric lines and trees.
